Sweet Music

Following my rant yesterday, Michael suggested that we played music in today’s session to lift my mood and for the first time, we worked out with music playing. I love music. Working out with music and singing along, is probably my idea of bliss – yep, I should get out more!
The session was fast paced, varied, exciting and great fun. My polar watch recorded one of my highest heart rate 176 (!!!), burning 554 calories with 40 % fat in our hour session. Just what the doctor ordered.
Even better news, I ...

Tearing My Hair Out!!!

Warning: This is probably not the best blog to read if you’re easily offended by language or looking for some happy thoughts. I figure, we’re all adults here, or should be, and more importantly, my blog, my thoughts.
So after the elation of reaching the 5 stones, the next week, I lost a further 2 pounds. However disaster struck! In just 9 days from Saturday 17th July, I gained 5 pounds back, that is 2.3 Kg. WTF!! It is totally pointless deluding myself if the weight gain has been my fault ...

Some of my clients are mighty relieved (L.I-W, J.V, R.V) about this as they are generally fed up with my complaining about various misfortunes. It also means that cricket based exercise routines should be reduced as I no longer ...

Short of time? try the new weights with no rest programme by HomeHealth Fitness

We all seem to be short of time these days and in my experience that is the most common excuse for not exercising. So why not condense your cardio workout into your weights one by eliminating rest. Start every session you do with a 10 minute row of gradually increasing intensity. Then go straight to your first weights station and complete your first set. Instead of just sitting there resting, don’t stay on the same exercise do the firstset of your second one. Then straight back to the first one until ...

Friday 16th July 2010, Chilli tablets, mixed results

Last week I read an article about a supplement that could help speed up your metabolism while exercising. I of course just happen to the type of person that has to have something. So I spentgoodness knows how much on these capsules that contain chilli extract and claim to speed up your metabolism during exercise to burn five times the normal amount. At around 7 a.m this morning I took my first capsule as it is instructed to take an hour before exercise. By 7.15 I looked like a chilli my ...
