The State of Zen…

My personal training this morning was rather erm…interesting! Instead of our usual energetic sessions, we did gentle cycling for 10 minutes, followed by dolphin relaxation music…really! We spent the rest of our sessions doing yoga moves using  a yoga DVD and YouTube clips because I wanted a specific type of yoga. Michael to his credit, (bless…:-)), after some initial sarcastic comments (!) embraced the task, very studiously mastering the moves whilst I was doing other exercises and managing to seamlessly incorporating the specific yoga moves I wanted, into our work-out.
It probably doesn’t …

Body, Mind & Soul

I have now lost 6 1/2 stones and have now decided to suspend my weight loss efforts. I have placed myself on a nourishing diet that aims to maintain the weight loss and replace any nutrients that may have been lost in nearly 3 years of weight loss diets. I’ve also started taking some supplements and drinking some superfoods that may sound weird but are seriously good for you. I have today finally (!?!) reached my mini-target of 5 and a half stones weight loss i.e. 35.1kg; 77.4 pounds. It has been a slow journey full of ups and downs but by taking it one day at a time, I know I shall get there someday soon.
My next mini-target is the 6 stones mark. C’mon body, mind, soul, Michael, we can so totally do this!

New Year, New Beginnings

Happy New Year all.
I love exercise and I have worked out regularly for over 15 years. Whilst I appreciate the advantages of exercise, my primary goal is to keep losing weight on the scale. The end of last year saw a crisis with my work-outs caused by the fact that every time I worked out, I seemed to gain weight or only lose very little weight, whilst experiencing impressive losses on days and even a whole week without exercise. I struggled to find a definite answer to why this was …

MIA

Apologies for neglecting my blog. I haven’t fallen off the wagon, just been busy with 5 weeks plus of house guests and all sorts.
I’ve now lost exactly one stone since I started training with Michael. It might not seem like a lot to lose in 7 months, but given the drama and resistance my body has with weight loss, a loss is a loss is a loss and I’m good with that. I need to lose 2.8 pounds (1.3kg) to get to 5 1/2 stones total loss. My next major personal target …
