Having not trained for a while due mainly to family illness and bereavements, I was, believe it or not, looking forward to Michael returning from his holiday. I felt as though I wanted to run and run and just maybe keep on running. As it was a circular route I ended up right back where I started but I certainly felt better for it. The weather has not been on my side either but that figures too. I prepared myself for the down pour with my all weather attire including a rain hat to stop my hair curling like next door’s poodle. Then Michael refused to run with me if I wore the hat! Which is a bit rich as I have had to endure the embarrassment of his shorts all summer-roll on autumn! So the hat got left behind and on completion of the run I looked more like an Afghan breed than a poodle.

Already I feel that much better being able to train again this helps my frame of mind as well as my fitness level and in turn deal with a very stressful time.

Last week I read an article about a supplement that could help speed up your metabolism while exercising. I of course just happen to the type of person that has to have something. So I spentgoodness knows how much on these capsules that contain chilli extract and claim to speed up your metabolism during exercise to burn five times the normal amount. At around 7 a.m this morning I took my first capsule as it is instructed to take an hour before exercise. By 7.15 I looked like a chilli my face was bright red and burning. Panic set in how I was going to explain to everyone I could not train as I had taken this chilli capsule which made me sweat profusely?

The hot sensation after a few moments subsided fortunately. I did manage to train and it was a fairly good session even though it has been a difficult week. I felt I was almost back on track. This I can honestly say is not due to the capsule. I am not sure how many calories I burned but it left me feeling quite good hopefully setting me up for a relaxing weekend ahead!

Yet another difficult week where my energy levels are very low. Caring for elderly parents is very demanding at the best of times and when they both become sick it is just physically and emotionally draining. I have still managed to train but not with the effort I would like. Michael understanding as ever and has made allowances. I hope my next blog finds my parents fully recovered and me back on track.

It has been a very tough week trying my best to get back to my previous fitness level and I admit I am struggling. I have gained a few pounds which does not help and I put that down entirely to the feta cheese of course. We have more or less stuck to the same routine as we had before the hols to ease me back in which makes things even more worrying. I am just hoping by next week I will be in full swing and the weight starts to come off.

I was awake at 4.40 a.m which gave me quite a bit of thinking time. I had to break it to Michael that I had some how locked his website! A miserable morning anyway with showers and did not seem that inviting for our regular run.

Michael thought a bit of rain would not give me pneumonia or even a severe cold but he had to concede when I told him it would make my hair curly so we did not venture much further than the conservatory. While on the treadmill I dropped into the conversation (so boring the treadmill makes you want to chat) the fact I had done something to the website whilst inputting my last blog. What a drama queen! All sorts of accusations about crashing his expensive site etc; A lot of fuss about nothing and of course at a touch of a button all is well.

As punishment he worked me very intensely on the power-plate. After wishing him luck for this weekends cricket he suggested some Pilates which he led and I followed. Well almost that is some of the positions were quite tricky! For some reason there was a lot of laughter not from me I might add.
