Skiing in Dunorland Park

11 January 2010 340 views No Comment

How strange it was skiing in a park in England. There has been so much snow here in Tunbridge Wells, that the whole park resembled a ski resort (but much less money). So despite feeling very self-conscious I got the ski’s and boots out of the loft and off I went. People’s faces were a picture as I (the sole skier) happily completed the perfectly manicured (by sledges, sheets of plastic and the like) 150 meter run. I was enjoying it so much I forgot the prospect of the walk back up. Unfortunately this most temporary of ski runs didn’t have a lift. So back up I went only to go again and again weaving around startled sledgers. Great fun and exercise and an unlikely to be repeated activity. I will never be able to look at the park the same way again.
