Although it still seems a very long way off, its not too long now until cricket of some kind. Their has been talk of the clubs (Iden Cricket Club) AGM talking place, which is quite late as usual. Even talk of winter nets being booked, although know one knows quite what date they begin. None of this is unusual for us, and often our net practice doesn’t start until a week or so before the first game. So the captain will be decided and it should be Shanksie, for the second year of the unofficial 2 year captaincy contract. However, he a a very bad season last year at the helm so all will be revealed at the AGM. Net practice is a time not for quality practice but more to see who has put on the most weight over the winter, Robin Mayes is odds on for his 5th title in as many seasons, however my brother David may run him close this year.
